Burlington County NJ Government Alcohol & Drug Abuse Unit Burlington County receives grant funding from the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Division of Addiction Services (DAS) to fund alcohol and drug abuse treatment planning and programs for county indigent residents. The grant funding derives from New Jersey P.L. 1989, Chapter 51 and designates that each county write an annual Comprehensive Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services Plan (County Plan) and submit a contract application for use of Alcohol Education, Rehabilitation and Enforcement Fund (AEREF) and other state discretionary funds. Use of the funding must be based on the identified needs and priorities stated in the county plan. The legislation requires that the Local Advisory Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (LACADA) be established and maintained to assist the County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Director and the governing body in the planning and development of the county plan. The legislation also requires that the Providers Advisory Committee on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (PACADA) be established and maintained to represent alcohol and drug treatment providers contracted by the county. The PACADA serves to assist the county with the development of alcohol and drug abuse services for county residents.
